Re: “Big, scary biker gang riding into town this weekend

Good grief, what we need is a nine year old with an uzzi!

Now it doesn't let you click on log in, it just sits there.

Re: “Money well spent: Streetcar edition

Seriously, Ward Parkway is a beautiful parkway and you want to run a streetcar line down the center of it?! And James B. Nutter is a very big reason the Clay Chastain plan that the voters approved did not come to fruition.

There needs to be a rail system in Kansas City. Kansas City is very behind in transit for cities it's size. The area's attractions and facility hubs are too sprawled out from each other in relation to where persons live and board. Something, sometime does need to be done in regards to transportation, and don't start with the bus system. You don't go to Chicago and take a city bus from the airport to your hotel you take the rail. And, that is just one example.

Re: “An in-house pastry chef is hard to find, but worth the search

Great article. Love me some desert. Food for thought-haha, and I do often remember dessert longer than I remember the meal-for instance, the olive oil cake at Novel-Oh YUM!

Re: “Nica's Lagniappe Cajun Kitchen has closed for good

My only comment was that I found it particularly difficult to find something somewhat healthy-ish and not laden with sauce or such.

Re: “Nick and Jake's on Main: a location with a curse, a menu with potential, servers with an itch

Disappointed to hear the news. Have never been that "wowed" by the original Nick & Jake's but thought the opportunity for them south of the Plaza would encourage them to bring their A game. I think the service as described sounds like Nick & Jakes, we ate at the original one fairly recently and experienced the same. My husband is crazy about this central location and really enjoyed the atmosphere when it was The Beacon. I'm sure he and his buddies will enjoy some meals here but, I won't be running out to join him if the food isn't a notch up from distributor's heat and serve fare. I can do Costco at home.

Re: “Kansas Town restaurant closes after five months

I'm pretty good at turning up to try a new local restaurant and the restaurant's name did not bring me in. That plus I am sort of done with pretentious displays of oddly combined flavor extravaganzas, although I have enjoyed dinner at Novel which I would put in that same category. I'm a rather open minded eater and love various foods and trying new delights but have sort of gone full circle and enjoy simple ingredients done well. Neither issue on it's own would have kept me from supporting a new local venue but combined it made me drag my feet on bringing it up as a dining suggestion. Just my take on it.
