Re: “Did you actually buy anything at Trader Joe's?

A bunch of bananas, some Indian veggie burgers, peanut butter-filled chocolate covered pretzel bites, and mini chocolate peanut butter cups.

Re: “Church bullies the mother who let son dress as Daphne from Scooby-Doo for Halloween

Don't know for sure, but we can guess. She was told she broke the 8th Commandment. What most people don't know is that different religious traditions break down the 10 Commandments differently. As I understand it (mostly from Wikipedia) Jewish, Orthodox Christian, and most Protestant denominations count the prohibition on stealing as the eight commandment. However, Catholics and Lutherans consider the Eight to be not lying (bearing false witness). She wasn't accused of stealing anything, so false witness (against the other moms, apparently) seems to be it. Ergo, the congregation is either Catholic or Lutheran.

Re: “The five unforgivable food mistakes

My unforgivable food sin:

Any wrap/dumpling/burrito or other sealed food that is supposed to be vegetarian but contains meat, especially if I told you I was vegetarian/asked if the dish contained any meat (which I always do). I know that mistakes happen, but after this happens I just can't trust a place any more, and will almost never go back.

That said, I don't reduce my tip (in most cases these aren't sit-down restaurants, so I've already left the tip) because I can never be sure if it is the server or the kitchen's fault.
