Paranormal Activity effectively scared the hell out of me, but I've always been a jumpy laddie.
Those Avett Bros. and Projectors songs are on my list, too. Neither band's record made my albums list, but the Avetts were close.
I hadn't heard the Monae. Thanks!
@Will: Those are all worthy for a local hip-hop roundup. You got one? For my part, the releases by Steddy and also the Deep Thinkers were really good -- and we gave them good reviews in print (mostly) -- but they just didn't spin my head around like the others.
@Mike: "Poot Case" was a classic. And you, sir, are my trombonist of the year!
@jjskck: You mean The ___s? They sold out, man!
@anonymous: Yeah, that Bleachbloodz record arrived here literally a few days ago. Kind of like the Adam Lee record above, it's probably going to get more attention the year after (but not *a* year after) its official release.
Fabulous. The XM radio in my rental Hyundai last week played this jam a bunch.
See? Try to be nice to a hippie and look where it gets you.
Re: “Stereogum's 10 Most NSFW Videos”
I came across this entry last night. Kudos to S-gum for excluding Rammstein, but E6 shoulda been in there.
There are also at least two KC peeps involved in this list.
Kliph Scurlock of the Flaming Lips (who, unfortunately, does not actually appear in the video) and in another video ... a man whose identity shall remain secret for now.
