UGHHHHH!!!! I didn't see that until I read the comments and you're right, Cat Food.
I agree with JJSKCK, due to having to pay for a wedding related budget cuts, I went on a tour of cheap beers to stretch my cash. I already knew I strangely didn't like natty lite, I drank an entire 12 pack of Olympia and all I can say is never buy a beer whose tag line is, "It's the Water". I like Miller High Life, but it only tastes good ice cold and in the summer. After much R&D,I found that I could tolerate KeyStone Lite, especially at at around $7 dollars for a 12 pack of cans, which is cheaper than all but Olympia. So, last monday night, while watching football, I decided to do a taste test. I had picked up some coors light 8oz. cans the night before and I still had some left over stones in the crisper. I had the bullet first, then I had a stone. The stone had a stronger alcohol smell to it, but ultimately, just tasted like a watered down bullet. In these times of frugality, I have no problem admitting I ended up enjoying the cheaper beer as much as the standard. It may also be that Keystone was my go to beer in college whenever an impending blizzard would roll through lawrence or cash was light. I'm sure none of this is news to any real beer drinkers, but after going from a wide open beer budget to downsizing, it's been an interesting adventure I wanted to share. Has anyone else been through this lately? I must be truly blessed if this is the biggest impact the economy has had on me. I mean no disrespect to anyone who is truly having real struggles. It's just beer.
I"ll be totally honest, IPA's are not the beers I automatically think of when I'm having BBQ or if I'm grilling something in the backyard. Actually, I almost always instinctually go for a lighter beer and whenever in doubt, just a good old, ice-cold budweiser, heavy. I am no foodie or beer racist though, so this combination of IPA's & BBQ does intrigue me and I will be trying it. Thanks for the knowledge.
Re: “After shooting, restaurant owners deny that Waldo is getting dangerous”
I think a lot of the various points on this board are valid. I've lived in two different sections of waldo and have had two compeltely different experiences accordingly. When I lived closer to the area in question, I had a horrible neighbor. Lowest points, their dog came into my fenced in yard and almost killed my dog and the owner then tried to physically intimdate me when I called police. Then I moved about 4 blocks away and it's been a great experience with nice people and families. I was very turned off by Waldo, but I'm glad to be back, but it's funny that just that short distance made a worlds difference. Generally, I would say Waldo is one of the "safer", areas in KC, but let's all be honest, things do happen there too, just like the rest of the world. In all honesty and generality, I'm very turned off by how violent KC has gotten lately and would honestly move my family over to Kansas if I could. KCMO is great, just cool it with murders.
