Re: “Vicky Hartzler compares gay marriage to incest, pedophilia

How appropriate that this person is from Hatesville. Of course to have any meaning to her declaration one has to ignore the high rate of cheating amongest married hetros, the number of married people who just decide they would rather have their teeth pulled than to have children and of course the high hetro divorce rate.

In fact beyond the questionable benifits of being married for economic reasons, I can't see that much stablity can be gained by an official declaration, but on the other hand I don't really care or need to be validated by a public blessing.

Then again just make sure that the religious do not feel compelled to offer these type of marriages. Let them sort it out amongst themselves and then for those who wish to have the marriage recognized, well make it manditory for justice of peace to perform and bless the occasion. Really the Religous have no right to force their hate on the rest of us. Tiresome

Re: “At Westboro Baptist Church, Steve Drain found religion but lost a daughter

One of the strangest things about Fundamentlist Christians is their enability to recognize that if they believe in Christ than why are they referencing the Old Testament when it disagrees with the teachings of Christ? And, why does the Old Testament often trump the New Testament when looking for something to be hateful about?

Really what a sad man. What a man who has lost his way. He probably believes in the Tooth Fairy too.

Re: “Black lab set on fire; Maria Alarcon-Suarez, the dog's owner, accused of animal cruelty

The last time I heard of a dog being set on fire was involving hispanics. Is there a pattern here?

Re: “Angel Dillard accused of sending threatening letter to doctor training to perform abortions

Another excess by a "Right to Lifer". Before we can tell if this person really believes in the "Right to Life", we should know if she understands the Irony of using this cause to justify threatening to commit murder?

Secondly I think we should like to know her stand on Social Programs, Education for all and seeing that the government has money for health programs. If she is against these programs than she is one of the species that really isn't Right to Life", but what she is really about is to preserve Pregnancy as a Punishment for having had SEX. Oh my!

I think she needs to examine herself, more than she needs to be dispensing punishment for someone she thinks she disagrees with. Starving children and general ignorance is not Life affirming.

Re: “Kansas Hy-Vee really wants you to be able to buy hard liquor from them

It has in years past and as far as I know is still the case that Kansas Law send Kansans to Missouri to save money and to have access to buying of smokes and drinks. We should thank Kansas for their contribution to our State Income.

Re: “Infographic: Rep. Don Wells compares Sharia law with polio

The truth is that in the short term the fear of Sharia Law is rather premature, but at the same time it isn't completely bonkers. Sharia Law represents a threat to Humanism, a threat to women's rights and to all Free Thinkers.

In European States where there have been large numbers of Islamic People moving in, there has been growing movements to exempt the Moslems from Secular Laws in their "host" countries. It is not just mean spiritedness, it is the shape of the future that these movements will effect if successful.

I was very distressed to learn that a long time ago the British had allowed Jewish Laws to function in Jewish matters with in Great Britain. That greatly damages the cohesion of a country and makes it harder to refuse the same deal with more aggresive and more oppressive views among new citizens.

Re: “The airplane that made Howard Hughes pee his pants (video)

The Connie is a beautiful plane on the ground and even more so in motion. Just taking off it gives a thrill. I remember when some business types tried to make a cocktail lounge out of one of the old planes. It sat on Main Street close to the Plaza and looked sort of forlorn there. I think just relying on a static display to draw a crowd was a case of faulty thinking. It doesn't seem the attraction lasted long, but that was a long time ago.
