Re: “Top 5 collaborations we wish would happen in Kansas City

Also, the down home delivery dudes from Shatto and the stylin babes of Fresher Than Fresh would make a funny people pairing!

Can't wait to try Bob's 47 ice cream! Dream come true.

Re: “Top worst Westboro Baptist Church music videos

LOL at shirley phelps-roper. you sound like a regular schizophrenic hobo wandering around shouting about god and jesus, maybe worse because you think you should sing while doing it. sometimes ya'll make me want to believe in heaven and hell just so i can picture you finding out you acted like complete hateful idiots your whole lives and aren't getting some big cake at the end of the deal. at least learn to rap, this is all so awful.
and if god hates us and it's too late, please do the public a favor and Shut the F*ck up.

Re: “Michael Thompson accused of killing Darrell Dancy for breaking a window (updated)

This is shameful. Maybe comments should be disabled in stories such as this. People are cruel. My condolences to the victim's family and friends.

And to all the people here spouting ignorant racist nonsense, you make our city look like trash.

Re: “Michael J. Tutera, KCMO homicide 41: Killa City's first society killing

@ Anon
Before I go any further, these are not my first feelings of worry/sadness at the way this paper has covered a murder. My friend Richie Restivo was murdered in 2004 and your cover story about him, though not too poorly done or badly researched, featured a headline that was in poor taste as well. I don't care if it's the column's name. As someone who honestly reads this site and paper a lot, I'm not going to feel embarrassed for missing this detail. I saw it when I saw it and I feel it's tacky. People are killed all over the world, it shouldn't make it a tongue in cheek affair.

Nothing about the Tutera story "Brought" me to this site, least of all his wealth. I do not know this man or his family. You hope while i'm here I'll notice how many other people are murdered? So now I'm the jerk because I have some sensitivity? Whether one person or 1000 die it's still someone's heartbreak.

Maybe you'll understand if one of your friends or family members is murdered and shows up in this crap. Until then, I'd take it easy on using catch phrases like "glass house". I've lived here for 25 years and am no stranger to the climate of KC.

Re: “Michael J. Tutera, KCMO homicide 41: Killa City's first society killing

This headline is in poor taste. I don't care what the circumstances are, he is someone's beloved child and someone's friend. "Killa city"? Really? I hope I live somewhere better than that, and I hope if someone robs and kills me the local paper has a bit more respect for the people grieving.

Re: “Concert Review: Dirty Projectors at the Granada (video-enhanced)

Nothing about that show fell flat except for some less than stellar sound. I was enthralled, that show was my bday present and i thought it was beautiful!!

Re: “Mike's Tavern is open (finally)

Didn't want to "blow anyone's eardrums out"? Lame. It's called live music and if you set up your stage and PA correctly you never run such a risk. My band, The Grisly Hand, got our start at Mike's and it made me sad to hear this. The old Mike's was "janky" for sure, but when it comes to cheap beer and a kickin' band, who really gives a hoot? Hope the current owners reconsider as they get more stable. Troostwood and the surrounding neighborhood has a serious lack of live music venues!! I'm excited to come check out the place either way. Best o' luck.
