Re: “Homicide victim discovered on sidewalk at 37th and Broadway

Dear Pitch: Thanks for posting this info. With another homicide today (March 4) we are up to 19 homicides for 2012--compared to 14 at this point in 2012. Just in case there are still any people in KCMO delusional enough to think that our ongoing crime disaster is part of a national trend a few statistics are in order: Wash/DC (50% great population than KCMO)--8 homicides in 2013 NYC (16 times greater population than KCMO)--38 homicides in 2013 and Chicago (6 times the population of KCMO are currently being considered the "Murder Capital of America")--52 homicides in 2013. Long past time for the city's political class to stop pretending that our crime disaster is due to national problems like the recession, lack of gun control, poor schools, etc. Take care. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans

Re: “Kassandra Peters killed in shooting at a Travelers Inn; 46 KCMO homicides in 2012

Dear Mr. Kendall: Thanks for posting this info. The bloodbath in the city's black neighborhoods that began in the spring of 2008 is continuing. At this point in 2007, the last year before this bloodbath began, we were at 40 homicides--27 black and 13 other races. Right now, with another homicide on Monday, we are at 47 homicides--37 black and 10 other races. Please don't even think of blaming the recession: Wash/DC and NYC are both on track this year to achieve the lowest homicide totals since the 1950's. Take care. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans

Re: “Ashton Oguinn shot and killed at 32nd and South Benton Monday night; 39 homicides in KCMO in 2012

Dear Pitch: Thanks for posting this story!! In the twelve months Sly James has been mayor we have had 126 homicides--98 black and 28 other races. In the twelve months before he became mayor we had 98 homcides--73 black and 25 other races. City is facing a major crime problem--particularly in its black neighborhoods. Take care. Re: “Calvin Buckner found shot to death at the A-1 Motel; 38 homicides in KCMO in 2012

Crazy Clown Has a Point: All over the nation in 2006-2011 homicides have declined in most cities--but not in KCMO: We are still having homicides at rates most cities have not had since the "crack wars" of the 1990's. Take care. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

Re: “Kansas City police investigating homicide on North Wheeling; second homicide investigation in last two days

Dear Mr. Justin: Thanks for posting. With today's homicide at a motel, we are now up to 38 homicides for 2012. In the twelve months before James became mayor we had 98 homcides--since he became mayor we have had 125--126 if baby Lisa turns out to be dead. "KCMO, we have a problem." Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans PS: I assume I will be called a racist for pointing out the mayor's poor record on crime, so let me note that of the 98 homicides in the twelve months before he became mayor 73 were black and 25 were other races. Of the 125 confirmed homicides since he became mayor, 99 are black and 26 are other races. I see nothing "racist" about protesting the ongoing explosion of violence in the black neighborhoods of KCMO

Re: “Damon Price found fatally shot at 55th and Euclid Wednesday night

Dear Mr. Justin: Thanks for posting. In the eleven months Sly James has been mayor we have had 114 homicides--compared to 98 in the twelve months before he became mayor. Not looking good for KCMO. Mr. Wink: Yes, we are path to beat 2009--and also 2008. Incidentally, homicide surge since James became mayor is almost all in black neighborhoods of city: Of the 98 homicides in the twelve months before he became mayor 73 were black and 25 were other races; of the homicides since he became mayor 88 are black and 26 are other races. Memo to city's "Racism Industry" More than enough dead young black men in KCMO, don't feel the need to capitalize on the terrible tragedy that befell Trayvon Martin and his family. Take care. Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

Re: “Man found dead in a hallway of the Travelers Inn; police investigating death as homicide

Dear Mr. Kendall: Thanks for posting this info. The first year of the James administration is turning out to be a very bad year, crime-wise, for the city's black neighborhoods. The last twelve months before James became mayor (May 1, 2011) we had 98 homicides in KCMO--73 black and 25 other races. In this slightly over ten months since he became mayor we have had 102 homicides (103 if baby Lisa turns out to be dead)--81 black and 21 other races. So, the surge in violence in the city's black neighborhoods, that had begun in the spring of 2008 and had begun to recede in the last few months before James became mayor, is back with a vengence. I stress that James is not the chief reason for this homcide surge--but he and he alone can take the steps necessary to end it. Take care. Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans
