Yes, we ALL pay for this in education, social services, and medical costs. But NO, you don't have to spew hateful, racist speech to get your point across. InsideBub, you've thrown about a lot of purported facts about Tom Levitt in the effort to clear his name. At the same time, you insult David Martin, who wrote of this column. Did the thought ever occur to you that either one of these might be taken more seriously if you used a REAL name? Until then, you're hiding behind your computer and not furthering Levitt's cause.
This nutjob (Riggins) sounds like someone who started off with ignorant opposition and has now turned it into an obsessive vendetta. Why is there no mention of her being involved in the 39th Street or Volker neighborhood organizations? Why is her business located in Mission instead of her very own neighborhood? I would venture to guess both of these are because she doesn't care enough about the community around her. An opportunist always gets ticked off when someone else comes up with a good idea first.
This is just the sort of stupidity you would expect from the Chiefs organization. Have they ever considered lecturing their own thugs that appear on the playing field? Derek Thomas, anyone? How does KC Wolf respond when kids ask about the whores on his team?

DM- Thank you for reporting on this. The awarding of WBE and MBE contracts affects far more people than the common man realizes. For any amount that a 'major' player has to sub out to a smaller company, their numbers are padded just as much. As taxpayers and customers, WE foot that added expense. These abuses MUST be stooped, but won't until we have a city government that can put ego aside and work ahead of them.
And re: Mark One ownership, I have wondering the same thing for quite a while. A better title does not necessarily mean a bigger chunk of ownership. This is where tax records should be supplied for proof of ownership.

When a study is instigated and funded by an impartial third party, I'll believe it. Statistics can be skewed to prove anything one wants; that's the problem with polls. Somewhere in that study is proof that smokers DID spend less money-- those question/answers were just muted to prove what the HCFGKC wants.
