Re: “Edwin Hall Speaks

If you read my entry from above, there is not a hearing on the 15th.

Re: “Edwin Hall Speaks

If anyone has information on the procedures for a grand jury trial I would appreciate you either posting the site you found the info on or just post the info on this plog. Thanks.

Re: “Edwin Hall Speaks

Upon further research this is what I have found out from www.topix.net:

"A Johnson County grand jury Tuesday night issued an indictment accusing Edwin R. 'Jack' Hall of kidnapping and killing Overland Park teen Kelsey Smith.

The indictment, which replaces earlier charges filed by District Attorney Phill Kline, means that grand jurors think there is enough probable cause to take the case against Hall to trial.

It also means that prosecutors can avoid a preliminary hearing in the case, which had been scheduled for Aug. 15. At that hearing, prosecutors would have had to present enough evidence in open court for a judge to decide whether there was probable cause to move to trial. Taking the matter to grand jurors, who by law meet in secret, bypasses the preliminary hearing phase."

My question: If the grand jury has already seen the evidence and come to the conclusion that Hall's case needs to go to trial....who are the jurors? I always believed the grand jury was the group of jurors that hear the case before a judge and find the defendant guilty or not guilty.

Re: “How I Got the Edwin R. Hall Interview

Kasey: So you have seen the Macy's video? Where did you view it at?

Re: “How I Got the Edwin R. Hall Interview

I have read several comments about the Macy's video but I have not been able to find it on the web. Does anyone have a link to that video? It seems to me that if they have video of Kelsey's car in the parking lot of Macy's they would have video of the person dropping it off and leaving.

Re: “How I Got the Edwin R. Hall Interview

Very interesting that he said the only thing he picked was a picture frame...by the video of Kelsey paying at Target it looks as though she bought a photo album. Coincidence? I think not. Again I am not being very open minded.

Re: “How I Got the Edwin R. Hall Interview

Most people that go against popular opinion get there rear-end jumped. One must beprepared to take the flack for expressing an opinion that differs from the masses that has been proven throughout history.

As for keeping an open mind....honestly I am a very open minded person. I am trying but....knowing that he approached a woman walking just a week before Kelsey's abduction, him wandering around Target looking for a anniversary errr graduation gift and admitting that he never really looked at anything, the very clear video of him leaving Target (which he admits to being there and leaving), his truck left at Target for 2 hours......and the very real fact that they are looking for the death penalty (which usually means DNA evidence is available). It is hard to keep an open mind. Only time will tell what will happen. I have to be honest....not to hurt Hall's family, but I hope they do have the right person because the thought of the monster that brutaly murdered Kelsy still on the loose is bone chilling to me.
