Davey's Uptown is open too! cheaper drinks than all the other places you listed... and a much better atmosphere in my opinion.
Harper,
I've been all ultra-busy over the past few weeks and haven't been keeping up with my regular reading... you're leaving?!?! That's a serious bummer for everyone in the local music scene.
Sorry to see you go. You're one of the only local writers with whom I can generally agree on musical content.
Best of luck in the freelance world! Your replacement will have some awfully big shoes to fill.
stay in touch!
Glad you enjoyed the show, yo!
We'll continue to bring in more pinata-busting bands! The Asian hip hop summit is coming up next wednesday (10/28)... acid-laced eggrolls in that one? And we'll have Jumbling Towers coming through in a couple months!
We'll give KC another chance to catch THD next year!
these guys played a popfreeradio show last month at The Brick and put on a hell of a performance.
It would be well-worth the $8 to catch these guys friday, ESPECIALLY IF THEY'RE GIVING AWAY THE DISC!
This could be rad!
I saw so many great shows there over the years... It'd be rad to see it restored. (although the disrepair was kind or part of the ambiance in recent years)
DPT has been really big in the UK since they first got together.
Their last big single "Bang Bang, You're dead" from 2005? or early 2006? was a major hit. I haven't listened to the new track yet, but these guys have all kindsa promise.
Re: “It's here: the Kanrocksas Festival official lineup”
I'm surprised about all the negative comments... I mean sure, there are a couple acts in this line-up that I would never spend a dollar to see, but there are a few killer bands in there. I'm old and boring and will stay home, but if this show would have come through 2-3 years ago I would have gladly paid $159 to see FLogging Molly, Muse, The Black Keys, the Flaming Lips, Primus, The Arctic Monkey and APC! And the people-watching gets a whole lot more interesting with all the little wannabe gangstas going to see Eminem
