You are Gay, dude. Seriously.....and if you said any of this sh*t to my face, you'd be picking up some loose chiclets of the ground.
Woah.....Stop the presses! Wow. OK, I, like most who still read the KC Star daily, want the best for the paper. So I wish Mi-Ai all the best and hope she can make vast improvements (Hint: FIRE Mary Sanchez and Jenee Osterheldt, and REHIRE Robert Butler.) in a time where newspapers are dropping at an alarming rate. I am sure she is up to the task. So, good luck to her in that respect. I hope she makes a mark here in KC.
Having said that, there is a devil on my other shoulder that just think she is absolutely gorgeous. Good Lord! Man, if I worked at the Star, I would turn into the biggest toady around her. In fact, I would quit my job right now to be her personal assistant. I would bring her coffee, bagels, mimosas, constantly fan her with a giant palm leaf, and give her hourly foot and/or back rubs. For starters.......Just throwin' that out there if such a position becomes available.
Man, a lot of haters for the local talent. That's just sad.
It's cool that Knuckleheads is getting some love from The Pitch, but I, in addition to many of my friends who go there for live music are NOT "Bikers, cowboys and greasers." That's the reason I originally skipped visiting the place, because I heard it was a Biker Bar. That would have been a mistake, as the place is the most comfortable and laid back venue I have ever been to in this town. Parody Hall in the 80's will always remain my favorite club, but with it's concentration on good music, stripped of artifice and bombast, Knuckleheads is easily the best place to see music in KC, overrated RECORD BAR be damned!

Yeah, Shawn is an illiterate piece of dogsh*t that has conned the idiots at Fox 4 into sending him on Press Junkets and letting him "review" films with adjectives like "Gangsta." If ANYONE at Fox 4 ever loved movies, they would see this guy for the affront he is to Film Criticism, point this fool with the taste and intellect of your common fifth-grader towards the exit door at WDAF, and give him a much needed kick in his dumb ass for everyone in this town who ever loved movies and is embarrassed by this blurb-whoring jagoff.
Re: “DJ Hepkat on KC Jamboree, Aftershock's weekly rockabilly night”
But THAT is the problem, Claudia. Aftershock isn't in Kansas City, it's in suburban Merriam, KS. When you support a show in Merriam, you are NOT supporting the "Kansas City scene." I went to the Aftershock once and didn't like it a tenth as much as I do Knuckleheads, which is actually IN Kansas City. I'm glad Hepkat is doing this, but it's at the wrong venue, in the wrong town. Rockabilly is more of a working-class music genre and personally, I find it a sad joke that this is being presented in the lily-white suburbs. I just lost an ounce of respect for Hepkat. Rockabilly in the 'burbs.......how awful a concept is THAT??
