I was a child when it happened to me, thank goodness I didn't become pregnant. Or was I supposed to be "prepared" at a young age for this to happen? Women in Kansas, start a campaign to get someone in office who actually thinks of you as a human being!
No kidding, as another rape victim I agree. I may not have been able to carry the fetus if I had gotten pregnant from my attacks. I feel sorry for his female (or male) family members who have to deal with his ignorance if they are victims of sexual assault. Or are the rules different for someone you care about? This man is hideous.
I do not judge or praise a woman who chooses to terminate or carry to term a product of rape. It is HER decision and HERS alone. No one besides her close family members and doctor should be involved in or talking about such a personal decision. It is very private. That being said, if someone came to me for support in such a time I would support her no matter what she decided, because it is HER decision. Only she can know her body and mind and know what is right for her.
Lasergoose, a little mass of cells does not trump a full grown thinking and feeling human. And maybe if you had ever been raped, or had to raise a child you were unequipped emotionally or financially for, you might have a different opinion.
I don't see you offering to pay the rape victim's medical and psychiatric care bills. I don't see you offering to raise this precious product of conception yourself. I don't see you supporting the morning after pill (which most of your kind try to block) so a woman can keep herself safe from unplanned pregnancy. You are a hypocrite of the worst degree. "We are only pro-life when it comes to fetuses and brain-dead people, fuck all the rest of you!"
I feel bad for you normal Kansas citizens. Isn't the Westboro Baptist Church based there as well? I mean, I live in Florida and we definitely have our religious nutbags, but Kansas seems to have more than their fair share!
Not a childr's fault that her or his dad is a raging douchebag. That being said, I find it depressing that, most likely, his children will grow up to be close minded fundamentalists as well.
Re: “Kansas Rep. Pete DeGraaf: Being impregnated during a rape is just like getting a flat tire”
Thank you for your empathy. I am sorry for what you have gone through. The world needs more Christians like you to stand up against the ones who do not know the meaning of compassion
