Re: “14-year-old girl accused of setting Phoenix the black lab on fire

My daughters cried when they heard this story, and will probably do so again when (and if) they find out who did it.

If the girl's a psycho, then the mother is an enabler. Waiting a day? Lying about it being a stray? This girl has a lot going against her.

I will futher site Junior and guest said (are they the same person?); Jeffrey Dahmer started out this way!

Re: “Keith Olbermann calls for Billy Long to resign for mocking the tornado alert system

Got concerned there for a second, as I was remembering when Olberman was a legitimate, respected sporstcaster.

Thought maybe he was calling for former Chiefs strength coach Billy Long to resign! That was close...

Re: “Why isn't this old Chili's a hot property?

Maybe it closed because they don't REALLY take reservations for meetin' your boys. ESPECIALLY on a Wednesday!

Re: “What's the most that a restaurant should charge for a Coke?

$1.50 is my threshold, and that was breached long ago. I will drink water, and take the service into consideration when tipping. I sometimes tack on to the tip as if I had ordered a soda, i.e. if the place charges $2, I'll throw another $.40 on the tip. Or I may be overtipping anyway, which was the case this past Sunday at the Latin Bistro! They brought us all sorts of extra stuff that had just come up in conversation.

The whole soda thing has gotten to be a big rip off. Especially with the kids. Some places have them included in kids meals, and some charge same price for adults and kids. $2.19 and the kid takes three sips. Terrific!

Re: “Bargain-basement Giuliani: How?

Something I just remembered! The $1.95 tickets are for us hoi polloi to sit GA in the upper level. After they get all your company info, they call the person who booked to upsell to lower bowl and floor seating. Just saw an ad on Craigslist of a guy selling his $225 face value "Executive" seating section ticket for $150.

As P.T. Barnum said, there's a sucker born every minute!

Re: “Bargain-basement Giuliani: How?

I have a feeling "Get Motivated" has people on payroll to look for articles like this one so they can "testify" the Gospel of Peter Lowe!

Re: “Big-time speakers to bring blemished pasts to Sprint Center

I went to this charade a few years ago. My whole company did. The speakers are a front for a sales presentation for "educational" seminars. There were a few, but "how to time the stock market" is the only one I seem to remember. Getting luch was a pain too. No way you were getting into any downtown restaurants. And the lines in the arena were huge with, as I remember, limited selection. Oh so how to solve this? Why, purchase a seminar, get a free box lunch!! Problem solved! Or should I say, market created!

Do. Not. Waste. Your. Time.
