Re: “So is Kansas City International a convenient airport or not?

I travel 3-4 times a month for work, and KCI is far and away the most convenient and easiest airport to deal with across the country. Early morning travel is only difficult during spring break, the holidays, and special events (Nascar race, All Star Game, etc). I love it.

I'm sure the airport officials don't like it because it lacks the revenue streams of nice restaurants and useless malls that other airports have. It's nice having restaurants, but most of the other amenities in other airports are completely unnecessary. The Pork & Pickle has been a nice addition in the Southwest terminal.

I will say that the new Southwest terminal at Dallas Love Field is very nice, as it highlights local restaurants.

Re: “Where are you going for brunch in Kansas City?

I love the Swedish pancakes at Succotash. And most everything else there. Beer Kitchen has an excellent brunch as well.

Re: “Sigur Ros is at Starlight tonight

Absolutely my favorite live show. It's more experience than concert, as I've never seen anything like it. Can't wait.

Re: “BRGR to beef up with new location in the Power & Light District

Fast forward to next spring, and I assume we'll be seeing a new story about Cordish filing suit for back rent against BRGR. Seems like that happens with every new restaurant that goes in at P&L, especially local ones. If they're opening a place downtown, I wish they'd pick a spot away from P&L.

Re: “Sporting KC's Jimmy Nielsen was a closet cigarette smoker

He wasn't that closeted about it. I ran into him with his family walking on the Plaza two summers ago, and he was smoking. I wished him luck as they passed, and they all stopped. Jimmy switched the cig to his left hand, shook my hand, thanked me, and started asking me questions about soccer. It was awesome. He couldn't have been friendlier. I found it amusing that a professional athlete was smoking, but my takeaway from that brief encounter was that we have a great guy in goal. I've heard similar stories from other people that he's very friendly and happy to chat with fans.

Re: “Kansas City named America's 10th Best City for Pizza

I don't really understand how KC got a top 10 ranking on pizza. There's some decent pizza around town, but this seems a little high. That being said, the Bengal Tiger Pizza at Grinders is about the best pizza I've had anywhere.

Re: “Fritz's Railroad one of the five most unique culinary experiences in America

The Gen Dare Twin is one of my favorite menu items in town. Hash browns on a burger is tough to beat.
