Simply taking public action against the aristocracy in this country will improve things, although perhaps not as much as is hoped. In Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968, I marched behind The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I thought I was helping the city's sanitation workers. To see Kansas Governor Sam Brownback's name on this list is a travesty. This fawning acolyte of Texas Governor Rick Perry decimated the Kansas Arts Council, gutted programs for the sick, the old, the mentally ill and the needy, worked tirelessly to throw teachers onto the streets and is a humiliation to every Kansas citizen but himself.
