I had planned to go to Cafe Roux but the reviews on Yelp deterred me. I love Cajun food and I'm a stickler so I didn't want to be disappointed. Jazz was good years ago but the last few times I was there I was disappointed. The Boudreaux's in Leawood didn't hold a candle to the one in St Joe which explains the failure there. The one in St Joe is worth the bloody awful drive. I'm with Greg above - it's past time for KC to get a GOOD Cajun restaurant.
Howe's office wouldn't "answere question’s"? Really?
You can only make it on a tank in a fuel efficient car but Rendezvous in my home town Memphis is the only place for ribs IMHO
@jjskck - yes and no. It's the same owner but you'd never recognize it as the same restaurant. Totally worth the trip to St Joe for the Cajun afficianado. I haven't enjoyed Jazz for some time now.
Ditto @Abe. I would add telling my friends
I have long been of the opinion that the host/hostess is the most important job in the restaurant. If I am turned off by clueless and/or attitude at the door I'm not staying to find out how good food/service is.
As for restaurant websites - not being able to quickly find hours of operation and a menu is inexcusable. I was out of town recently trying to accommodate a large party with many diverse food requests. I was able to find extensive bios for the EIGHT managing partners on the front page of one contender but never could find a @#*&* menu. Seriously.
