I'm a Baptist in a white church. Why haven't we heard of this? That's infuriating. When our fellow Baptist family members are gowing through this we should know about this. I intend to get involved and I intend to drag along my church fmaily. Thank you for this article; thank you for raising awareness.
Two things:
1)I believe firmly in a seperation of religion and government. God gave us the freedom to choose wether or not to sin. I don't understand why some Christians feel they know better than God and feel He made a mistake in giving us free will. You can not force someone into having a relationship with God! Good behavior does not make you a good Christian.
2)God does still love you.
Wow! What a great story about a wonderful person. I'm glad she's aware of the joy she must have brought to so many people; and I'm thankful she didn't give up despite people trating her with disdain. Good for you Billie! Dance is not sinful, it's a way to show how joyful you are for God's love and the life he gave you!
Have things gotten any better since everyone's on motorcycles now? I know a few years ago both were loathed by people in bigger vehicles, but now drivers know that they're everywhere and need to be watched out for. I was just wondering since both are of a similar size. Plus, I would assume that cycling is more popular now because of the cost of gas. And I know it's scary out there if you're not in a truck or an SUV. I drive a Rio, and have a hard enough time around people with giant viehicles and bigger egos. It's amazing to me that because I got a smaller, more fuel efficient car, I am apparently a second-class citizen on the road. How odd! In any case, I'm sorry this is happening. I'll watch out for you guys! Good luck!
Most of these I have no problem with. People who are cops, firefighters, judges, etc are working for the public. If the task they are doing is helping the public then what is the big deal? Personally, I think $57 is ok to spend to help little kids reunite with their pets. There are a lot of worse ways tax dollars could be spent than making children happy. And what's wrong with letting children play in a fire hydrant on a "mildly" hot summer day? At least they're safe and not getting into trouble. People need to lighten up. If this story angered you, then please do us all a favor: go pop a Prozac and relax!
Re: “Power & Light vs. Westport”
Thanks for confirming my suspicions about P&L. I'll continue to haunt Westport. Buzzard Beach, here I come!
