My late Peruvian husband always said that Mexicans do not speak spanish. I agree that the country should be much better. I have been there and feel that the problems in perception may be the border area. Southern mexico is beautiful and more sophisticated. Our negative view of Mexico comes from the illegals that are invading our country. If that flow could (and should be stopped) our opinion would improve. Plus, it is a major route for drugs coming into this country.
All classes should be taught in English because that is the language of this country. The public schools in my area do not provide classes in spanish or any other language for that matter. Children pick up english very fast and do not fall behind. If the parents can't bring themselves to learn the language, they are the outcasts, not the children.
