Absolutely do not judge the teachers! People who have never taught, AND administrators, who have been out of the classroom over 3 years, have NO idea what kind of stress teachers are under....no supplies, no books, no technology, no parental support...and then there are all the non-teaching hours required. It's a wonder anyone teaches...no, it's wonderful we choose to teach!
The buildings are dirty, unsafe and in horrible condition. My own severe respiratory problems were directly caused by the classrooms I taught in.
It is estimated a student spends an entire year with a substitute from K-12. Luckily, there are so many qualified substitutes, now that there are so many unemployed teachers.
