No wonder this town is full of backwards buffoons. Travel around and take a look at what's going on in the rest of the country and (gasp) world.
Maybe Highwoods can lure Benihana. A corporate chain version of Hibachi would be another jewel in the crown.
What a throwback, didn't know they were still in business. They must have had a dozen local restaurants in the 70's, I still recognize the buildings. Gates on Main was a Sizzler and every suburb has at least one. I thought they went the way of Bonaza and Sirloin Stockade.
I'll take a beef and a half and a slab from Gates swimming in extra-hot please. I like almost any good KC que but a life without Gates sauce is not worth living.
Good KC BBQ is not molasses-based, never has been. Always amazed that out-of-town food companies make gloppy sweet molasses-based sauce and slap "Kansas City" on the label. Total crap.
It seems like these types are always looking for the next big thing, instead of focusing on running a successful restaurant. Greedy, stupid, big ego or a combination of the three?
Re: “Just how much impact has the Green Impact Zone had?”
In the real world you determine what you want to achieve, set a budget and put the work up for bid. Fairly straightforward and cost effective.
