I had dinner with a friend there Sat. evening (the first Sat. they were open). Started in the lounge with beer and onion strings (fantastic!) while we waited for a table. Wait was maybe 20 minutes tops. Servers were very friendly and courteous.
Went on in for dinner which was also wonderful (roast beef au jus sandwich and a salad for me; burger and fries for my friend). I really loved the fresh-from the oven rolls that were offered to diners by someone walking around with them still in the muffin pan. I could make a meal from their rolls alone!
Two suggestions for the owner/staff to consider: coat hooks somewhere. It was a cold night and having a heavy, long coat doubled over my dining chair was a bit of a discomfort.
Second, we were seated at the table by the glass immediately behind the hostess station. Please put up a cafe curtain, or frost the glass or do something to offer a bit of separation between diners and the activity of the hostess station. It was rather distracting to have the computer screen glaring and all of the activity happening just on the other side of the glass.
Other than those 2 comments, the decor is great; service was very good, friendly, professional, quite competent and courteous without being stuffy, and the food was terrific. It is nice to have a new neighborhood restaurant to enjoy.
