Interpretations aside... Google is spending a hundred million plus dollars to deploy this infrastructure in Kansas City, KS ...so even if it was meant as a joke I would look at it more as a Google is laughing with us; not at us kind of situation.

The bigger story here is the fact that the CEO of a multi-billion dollar international tech company is even mentioning the words "Kansas City, KS" at in international tech conference in Spain. Ten years ago this would have been unimaginable and validates everything the Unified Government has done to make Kansas City, KS known worldwide as a progressive, business friendly government. But of course the Bitch Weekly is only ever looking to report the sensational.

I would further extrapolate that if Kansas City, KS did not get this for the metro then Kansas City, MO would have never got it on their own. Kudos to the citizens of Wyandotte County for their foresight and courage in approving the Consolidation of Kansas City, KS and Wyandotte County governments.
