This took me back to Omaha wrestling in the late 50's-early 60's. Verne ruled the roost but Mad Dog, Dr. X, Harley, Fritz "the Claw" and many others still resonate for me.
The Novas did a song in the early 60's paying homage to their favorite wrestler, Crusher Lisowski. Check it out on YouTube, you turkeynecks.
@Crocodahlia - just think what the Tiffany Castle would be worth if it had a view.
The east bottoms has three things going for it - the last few remaining buildings of the Heim Brewery, Knuckleheads (a more than worthy successor to the Grand Emporium) and Local Pig.
Oops, forgot the ReStore.
I see no one has as yet reviewed either book on Amazon. If Mr. Ellis or his representative would sent me copies of his books (Kindle format please), I would be happy to leave my completely objective 5 star review of them there.
Thank you.
OK, OK, the homes have lots of style and charm, but no one has brought up the real reason we move to the NE - we needed a place big enough to house all our stuff!
We appreciate all our newer neighbors, how they've worked to improve life in the NE. We thank the ones who where here when we moved in for making us feel at home.
Christy and Adam's refurbished home will be a tremendous addition to our block, our neighborhood and our city.
Re: “Craig Howard opens his 24/7, members-only sustainable market”
71 HWY is not an Interstate. You'd be better off telling people to reach it by coming south on Charlotte from the East Crossroads district and turning left (east) on 21st St.
