The Foundry is doing a free beer (I didn't note the details as I don't drink) for people who come in with an I Voted sticker on. This confused me as I grew up in a state where the bars were closed on election day so that finks couldn't round up sots and buy their votes with beer. With the help of The Foundry it seems like this would be very easy -- "Hey guy come in here and vote for my candidate, then I'll take you to a bar for beer."
It was a great show though kinda hectic. Maybe not as violent as Negative Approach but definitely busier. Good job sticking in the pit and firing away. I saw Todd lose a 24mm f/1.4 in the pit somewhere. Ouch. I stayed high and dry. Here are my photos and video of the night: http://toomuchrock.com/shows/off.html
PS Black metal costumes are so much better than superheroes and sexy nurses.
I'd like to have that recognition system for my neighborhood here by Gillham Park. My wife and I frequently play Midtown's fastest growing quiz show, "Fireworks or Firearm?"
@joseph: You might want to visit a dictionary before complaining about the selling of "busses." Both are acceptable, and "busses" is clearer for pronunciation. "Buses" might rhyme with "abuses." And as far as the most disruptive? I think you've got that backwards. One bus turning left moves 25 people, one car turning left moves 2. So on a disruptive per person basis, let the busses (and the buses) turn left and get where they're going.
My wife and I have had the revival dream for the Warwick Theatre (though no real theatre elements of hte building remain). So boys, promise it's going to be there and I'll toss a fistful of dollars into your kickstarter
I disagree with you on lots of points, and agree with a few, but the web is a stupid place to try to communicate. So instead let me say that if "Bassnectar or a Black Keys or a Wilco or a Jack White" play the Middle of the Map Fest, I'll stop going and covering it. My favourite festivals are the small ones (Sappy Fest in Sackville, NB or IndieTracks in Derbyshire, UK Emmaboda Festival Sweden). If I want to see Wilco, I can see them the six times a year they play within driving distance. No one is going to come to KC and put up with festival bullshit (aka stand at the edge of the stage for 8 hours without moving or you wont be close enough to see them when they do play) to see Wilco when they could see them the day before in Tulsa or Columbia, or 3 months earlier in KC at a nice low-drama venue.
Re: “The Fresh & Onlys are at the Jackpot tonight”
I posted some photos and video of the show if you're interested in how this panned out: http://toomuchrock.com/shows/freshonlys.ht…
