Re: “Johnson County boobaphobe wants Overland Park to disappear arboretum's Yu Chang sculpture

My wife and i took out kids to arboretum saw the sculpture and we all were fine! In fact we quite liked the sculpture. It took about 15 seconds to explain to our 9 year old about art and the human form. It was a perfect learning opportunity and the whole experience in the sculpture garden was fantastic. People who fight to ban this sort of stuff are prudish and ignorant. I hope the arboretum and Joco keep the sculpture and plan to do more art projects like this in the future. It has my full support kids need to know that art is something to be lived with not feared! By the way my wife also supports this and we live in southern Joco so there is your one mother who approves.

Also the arboretum is about more then trees and plants its about garden space as well and in gardens people display art. Your point that it is the wrong context is wholly misguided.
