Re: “Momo the Missouri monster is this state's Bigfoot”
Momo was a big deal at the Osceola scout camp back in the early 1970’s. I remember how the camp counselors were telling Momo stories instead ghost stories to scare the young campers. I thought the stories were fun, but some of my fellow campers took the stories of encountering the glowing red eyed, foul-smelling creature around camp seriously. I think there were more than a few young scouts that lost a few nights’ sleep because of those tales.
