Re: “Kyle James and Kemet "thePhantom*" Coleman come of age in KC's music scene”
Unfortunately, both of these individuals are doing a significant disservice to the organic Kansas City music/hip-hop community by desiring the full "attention" of listeners. As noted by a previous commenter, the music produced by this duo lacks originality and is replete with cliche stereotypes that are as tired as the snuggie. There is a qualification or a "claim" issue as well. To demonstrate my previous point, Kemet Coleman lists his prior education on Facebook as both Harvard University and KC-based Barstow; however, Coleman attended neither institution. Maturity is devoid in both individuals. Life is not an aimless party, yet both of these guys act as if it is such. On a comparative scale, Coleman has substantial potential and was headed down the correct path---it is actually quite surprising that he would be associated with such a holistic screwup. I genuinely hope that Coleman would imminently dissociate from James' epitomal loser ways. And on a completely unrelated note, both should probably "come out" already.
