"No Sports Fan" You must certainly realize the cathartic nature of sports? Why do people read the sports page first, as one person put it, "it is because there we celebrate achievements, not tragedies." And who exactly is "the rest of us..."?

Look I was no jock in school...I played on my eighth grade football team...and I wrestled one year...believe me I was no standout. I much more enjoyed theater arts acting and assistant-directing. But it stirs my heart to see my boys in blue and red doing well on the field of competition and I am left downtrodden when they do not.

I think that you shortchange the importance of sport in general, and what these two teams mean to us in particular. We long for the days of winning and smiling Monday mornings...and frankly "the rest of" of you might be a much smaller group than you realize.
