Re: “Save Westport? Assessing the neighborhood’s recent parking-lot controversy

A building built for a Qdoba doesn't mean it will be a Qdoba forever. At the end of the day, you'll have a new restaurant space facing Westport Road. Why is that a bad thing?

Re: “Main Street's most respected chefs wonder how they'll survive streetcar construction

Non-resident property owners don't vote, residents do. Civics 101. Why are we still rehashing this basic fact?

Re: “Il Lazzarone Pizza in St. Joseph to open River Market location

Wow. Yet another business opening right on the streetcar line in the middle of construction.

Is this an editorial?

Re: “Sly James and City Council are targets of a streetcar-related ethics complaint (UPDATE: Sly James responds)

Building ANY transportation project is expensive and requires a significant amount of public involvement through every phase.

If the engineering team didn't go door-to-door reaching out to disconnected or disadvantaged residents, opponents would complain about that, too.

If you support KC catching up to its peer cities when it comes to mass transit, you'll want to vote yes for this plan that invests and connects great neighborhoods and jobs in Midtown, East Side, and the Northeast.

You will get to vote on August 5 if you think it's a good or bad idea to invest in Kansas City.

Re: “Streetcar-opposition campaign gets its first big check

Thankfully Kansas City won't be paying for these streetcar extensions alone. A minimum 50% federal match is required before the taxes take effect.

Separately, I love that the funded opposition to Midtown and East Side streetcars is from Brookside (DeJanes) and St. Louis (Sinquefield).

Re: “Lyft buys itself more time in KC; free rides for the rest of us

Lyft delivers a better user experience than any taxi. Period. It's not even competing on price.
