The idea that Leader-1's name is based on Optimus Prime is absurd. Leader-1's toy came out a year before Optimus Prime. If anything it's the other way around.
Also, it is only fair to compare Transformers and Gobots at the same price point. Basic sized Gobots sold for $3! You can't compare them to $20+ Transformers like Optimus Prime. You would have to compare them to the $3 Transformers Mini-Bots, and honestly the diecast Gobots are far superior to those all-plastic superdeformed Mini-Transformers.
