In your faces, Spertus and Westbrook. Maybe next time don't be such wusses and try passing a property tax instead of a sales tax. You probably won't even pull 10% of the votes on that.

So, let me see if I understand this... we're being asked to impose a tax that hits the less well-off disproportionally harder (because the less well-off tend to spend a greater percentage of their income than the rich) to pay for research to be done that will ultimately monetarily benefit big pharma and medical corporations? I can see why that sounds like a good idea to researchers and big corporations, but why would voters other than those employed as researchers be in favor of it?
