Re: “Why do Mexican women hate Spanish women?

I merit a lot of the emotions on this page. I am a mixture of Spanish, Argentinian, and Mexican. I have dark hair but I am light skinned. I live in a Mexican area and I actually get ridiculed any time I go to the three shops near my home. I'm very proud of my roots, attending university, artist, musician, and a horror hostess which is Latin themed. But even with all this, I'm called a sell out. Immediately dismissed as I am at the check out line at Seller's Bros. Example, I went for pan dulce and cat food. My life. Lol and I and my friends even noticed everyone just starring at me. It was like, "What is she doing here." I am friendly and every time I ring up my things they won't acknowledge my hellos or anything. Just looks of disdain and then the girl bagging called me a Poncha, not sure how to spell it. It hurts.
Maybe it was my Morrissey shirt and Frida bag that made me stand out. I don't know. It seems any place I go to my people just dismiss me or call me a white girl. Is it the skin tone? I don't get it. Even as a kid, I was laughed at for liking poetry. It didn't matter that I read Garcia Lorca, I was a white girl. It saddens me.
