It is a sacred rite, NOT to be charged for, nor to participate with just your birthday suit on in mixed company. Ever.

Inipis (sweat lodge ceremonies) are to be run (in the Lakota way) by those who have sun danced for at least four years - and even then, that person is supposed to get "spiritual permission."

If a person has been drinking, they must wait at least twenty-four hours before going to an inipi ceremony.
