I like pure sushi (nigiri and simple rolls), so I can't speak for the "tourist-type" fancy rolls, but for my money, there is no better place in Kansas City than Sushi Haru at 132 and State Line. The atmosphere is very comfortable, the servers are nice, and the tuna rolls are second to none (better than most I've tried in California)!

My second choice would be NARA downtown.

Siki is good....kyoto is good for rolls and such..........but Edokko is the BEST!! Siki cuts there fish too thick for Nigiri (though the scallions underneath add a nice touch) Edokko has nice cuts of fish, but still give you a good size portion and the sushi chef scores the top of the fish so it just melts in your mouth instead of have to gnaw on a huge hunk.
