      <![CDATA[V's in Independence opened as V's Cafe in 1963.<br><br>Ernie's Steakhouse/Kross Lounge in Sugar Creek opened in 1945.<br><br>Both of these venerable establishments are still around and satisfying customers.

      <![CDATA[I'm not sure when the Majestic opened as a restaurant, but both it and the Ox have closed at least temporarily in recent years.<br><br>Arthur Bryant's website makes reference to serving people since 1930.
