      <![CDATA[You'd also need something acidic. Maybe lime juice would be better than vinegar, although a sweet balsamic vinegar might be OK.

      <![CDATA[An ice cream base using brown sugar and/or a little molasses, along with some chile powder and smoked vanilla extract (or vanilla beans- no idea how they'd take on smoke) may be a good baseline to build upon. No idea what the addition of other bbq rub spices like cumin might bring to the experience in relation to the gag reflex, but hey, at least no shredded meat.
