I saw this show Saturday night.
The house lights were up during the entire performance and people were often seen with tears in their eyes by the end of a song, yet laughing over his witty engagement with the audience between sets.

It was the most brilliant and intense performance I've ever seen, and it came from a single man with an acoustic guitar and a harmonica.
I was at that show back in June of 2010.

I went to see Jim White, another one of my favorite singer/songwriters, and Sam's set wound up being a sweet bonus.

After all Sam's been through, its amazing how well he performs.

He explained how messed up his hearing and his vision was after the bombing, and went in to detail about the German kid that was riding next to him (who died in the carnage) on the train.

Then he had them bring up the house lights so he could see the audience.
