My experience tells me though that fat people generally aren't picky eaters and also generally dine at places I wouldn't eat at anyway (Bob Evans, Applebees, IHOP, really any chain you'd find in the burbs)

I don't think I'll ever walk into Cafe Europa or Room 39 and find the majority of the clientele to be overweight.

The rational foundation is that fat people tend to like huge portions and portion size is generally negatively correlated with food quality. There are a few Mexican and BBQ places where that relationship breaks down, but generally you don't want to eat where fat people eat.
