What's the big issue with letting people do what they want in their own home of you can go out in public and blow cigarette smoke in other peoples faces while getting drunk and being a nuisance to others or putting people at risk while you drink and drive. Seems backwards and lacking common sense.

Ending the war on drugs is one of the main reasons I vote Libertarian.

The USA incarcerates more of its own citizens than China!
Legalize it, then release all the folks in jail, who were jailed for weed related offenses, then lets check the budget numbers, and see how much we've saved the system.

It was NOT the "fundamentalists" that killed this initiative, it died because too many folks that support such a law did NOTHING to promote or provide signatures for submission to the state for adding to the ballot. The "Show Me Cannabis" bill only needed 144,000 signatures.
