A Last-Friday Art walk

If the madness of First Fridays in the Crossroads District has you pining for the days when no one gave two shits about local art, consider venturing to Lawrence from 7 to 9 tonight for the substantially more low-key Downtown Gallery Walk. Now in its sixth year, the event — occurring on selected last Fridays — showcases exhibitions and artist demonstrations at nine Larryville galleries. The 6 Gallery (716 D Massachusetts, 785-856-6480) is injecting some new blood into the scene with group shows centered on common themes. The Phoenix Gallery (919 Massachusetts, 785-843-0080) is showcasing Steve Ramberg's nature photographs and Jonah Seibel's modern metal home accessories and furniture. Diane's Artisan Gallery (801 D Massachusetts, 785-856-1155) highlights the crafty side of things with jewelry, glass, hand-wovens and pottery. Other participating galleries include the Lawrence Arts Center, Southwest and More, Kimbari, Signs of Life and Bella Memento.
Fri., April 25, 7-9 p.m., 2008
