Actually Original

Crossroads art shows are great. But one of the best things about First Fridays is in the West Bottoms — Good JuJu (1412 West 12th Street). The curiosity shop is packed with one-of-a-kind home décor items, such as magnets made out of old maps, and handmade local jewelry and art. Once there was a creepy diorama that we swear included a real mummified dog. This weekend, Kansas City Art Institute student Jessica Eschen displays a photographic series called Femina Divina, which explores feminine divinity through the icon of the Virgin Mary. Good JuJu is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday (plus 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 13 and 20). For more information, see goodjujukc.com
First Friday of every month, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; First Saturday of every month, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; First Sunday of every month, 1-4 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2008
