Since the dawn of punk, no band name has captured the furies associated with the genre quite like '80s power trio Agent Orange. Those two words, which make up the nickname of the deadly defoliant that made its hellish reputation during the Vietnam War, elicit visions of death and government corruption — otherwise known as punk lyrics. But despite its loaded name, Agent Orange has always been less hardcore and more groove-oriented: skater punk. The band describes itself as "Southern California's original punk/surf band." Armed with The Latest and Greatest, the most recent recording of a 27-year career, original band member Mike Palm and newer hires Dusty Watson and Perry Giordano have left the sunny groves of California for a nationwide tour and the chance to rub elbows with their loyal fans.
