The suburban outpost of the original Andres Confiserie Suisse opened in 2002, and like the combination retail shop and tea room on the Country Club Plaza, the European-style luncheonette can fill up the moment its doors open. Patrons may chose one of three prix fixe entreés, which include warm rolls, a salad or soup and a sweet finale: one of the alluring Andres pastries displayed on the dessert tray. The gorgeously iced miniature cakes and tarts are almost too pretty to eat, but most customers find a way to give in to temptation. Andres has the reputation of being a Ladies who Lunch scene, but a lot more men dine there than you might expect. — Charles Ferruzza
