Are You Metal Enough?

Not a member of one of the 15-plus ridiculously heavy acts ready to set heads bangin' at the Kansas City Rock & Metal Fest? No worries — not everyone onstage is going to shred on a real instrument. In addition to performances by some of the metro's most metal acts — At the Left Hand of God, 3 Quarters Coma and Sicadis, for example — this all-ages fest at the Uptown Theater (3700 Broadway, 816-753-8665) also features an air-guitar contest and heavy-metal karaoke, so practice your dead face. Devil horns start going up at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door.— Crystal K. Wiebe
