Atmosphere

Arguably one of the most successful independent hip-hop groups around, Atmosphere — a duo comprising Slug and Ant — has recently gone through significant changes in its overall sound. By adding more live instrumentation to its recordings instead of relying on commonly used samplers, Atmosphere has greatly expanded its music. Slug's introspective lyrics remain more or less the same, but this new musical direction reflects the evolution of the group's live act, which has grown considerably since its inception 15 years ago. Atmosphere recently released a seven-track, free digital EP titled Leak At Will, in celebration of Minneapolis hip-hop store Fifth Element's turn to digital music and also to thank fans for the support they have given after all these years.
