Re: “Richard Notkin at the Belger Arts Center

This a really fasinating exhibit. It's definitely worth a look. Notkin's use of portions and texture makes for some really interesting pieces.

This show is extensive, and offers a nice range of examples. Whether you are an admirer of "outsider art" already, or this is your first experience, I think you will find a variety of fun and fascinating pieces. Lack of formal art training certainly does not keep creative people from coming up with delightful, and often profound or really funny pieces. The Belger Art Center is a great venue for this show, too, with ample space to walk around and see the art from many angles, even in a First Friday crowd. This is a great show!
