Berry Burst Cheerios Auditions

Saturday, April 5, at Independence Center, 2035 Independence Center Drive.

As if the historic first-time combination of delicious real berries with nutritious-breakfast cornerstone Cheerios together in a box for groggy morning ease wasn't enough, now there's yet another reason to love new Berry Burst Cheerios. That reason is a shot at singing live with David Cassidy, a most-likely once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Would-be dueters must write fruit-and-cereal-related lyrics to the tune of the Partridge Family's "I Think I Love You," then go down to Independence Center and perform them. Those who simply wish to cheer on KC's songwriting cereal lovers can hang with a 6-foot-tall strawberry and a 7-foot-tall Cheerio. Cereal pooh-bahs will review the submissions, then select three semifinalists from the contest's six mall-related stops (and a nationwide pool of videotaped selections). The winner will travel to the Mall of America in Minneapolis to sing live with Cassidy. There's also a new, red Chrysler Sebring LX convertible involved. More details, full contest rules and information on entering in absentia can be obtained at www.berryburstcheerios.com.
