Harry's is merry, Kelly's is swelly and the Buzzard is, uh, fluzzered. But lately, when that 1:30 a.m. call sounds, we want a little breathing room and a pint of good beer from a bartender who's not serving up 10 dozen shots to eight different shnockered Westport tourists-for-the-night. Such a retreat can be found at McCoy's, the place famous for its home-brewed beers, good food, friendly servers, outdoor deck and 3 a.m. license. Additionally, not too many people know about the small but raging dance parties that go on whenever fun-loving DJs, such as Tigerbeats, Brodie Rush or Zach Phillips, preside over Friday nights (in just one section of the place, mind you). McCoy's has been booking great local bands a couple of Sunday nights a month, too. It used to be that McCoy's was where we started the evening. Now, when we're in Westport on the weekend, we love ending it there.
