All-ages venues have traditionally had a tough time surviving within Kansas City's limits, but El Torreon, formerly both a concert hall and a roller rink, is thriving a year after appearing on the scene. An excellent place for young fans to see local talent, including groups such as Parlay that usually play at 21-and-over establishments, El Torreon also brings in top touring acts, with ska/punk acts such as Less Than Jake and Suicide Machines, hardcore legends Agnostic Front, and Insane Clown Posse proteges Twiztid attracting sizable crowds. And the cavernous venue recently opened up a second room, giving smaller shows a comfortable feel.
