Add ample, plush seating, and you have the Drum Room, the kind of bar where one drink almost always leads to one more, two more, three more. (It's also the kind of bar where, after four drinks, you look good, baby.) The bartenders are prompt with a pour, and the cocktail menu has the right mix of classics — the Kir Royale is a favorite — and updated takes that capitalize on local ingredients. Filed under "why didn't we think of that": the St. Shandy, with St. Germain elderflower liqueur, Boulevard's Tank 7 and passionfruit juice. There was a time when Harry Houdini or Frank Sinatra might have strolled through the Drum Room on the way from hotel to gig or gig to hotel. On a good night in this room, you can still feel the magic and hear the music.
